Details of Services can be found in the Calendar

The benefice of Chelford with Lower Withington and Marthall (CLM Rural Churches) is made up of two parishes and three churches in the Diocese of Chester –

  • St John the Evangelist, Chelford
  • St Peter, Lower Withington
  • All Saints, Marthall

Our benefice is situated between the towns of Macclesfield to the east and Knutsford to the west; with Holmes Chapel and Congleton to the south.

Each of our churches has its own character, reflecting the local population.  In all we endeavour to work within our local communities bring church and community together.  Events through the year are celebrated well and draw in folk from various organisations and parts of the villages.  Farming and rural events are highlighted and well attended with social gatherings being very popular.  In turn we like to support other local community events and projects too.

We worship God each Sunday around the benefice.  On around 4 occasions a year we celebrate together in a joint benefice service.  These occasions help us to get to know one another better and unite us in purpose - to proclaim the love of God through Jesus Christ our Lord - not only in word but in action too.

We love to see visitors, newcomers and old comers to our churches and services.  A warm welcome is extended to all.
